0031 — Long-Range Scanner Fuzzy Disclosure¶
Status¶
Folded into FEATURES/galaxy/sectors.md. Accepted + shipped; the durable rule (fuzzy-disclosure model, anti-abuse measures, resonance/texture/echo vocabulary, misread/sensor table) now lives in that feature doc, which is the discovery surface. This ADR remains the audit trail.
Context¶
The long-range quantum scan returns fuzzy bands and texture words rather than exact values ("imply low, don't say zero"), with sector identity hidden until arrival and four anti-abuse measures (Far-band Shard tax, anonymous destination ping, 4-hour scan cooldown decoupled from the jump cooldown, 10-minute result expiry) constraining free-perfect-scan exploits. The model balances clarity (the player must be able to act on a result) against uncertainty (the result must not eliminate the choice that follows), and scanner information against scanned-party warning. The full disclosure stack, vocabulary tables, and rationale are owned by FEATURES/galaxy/sectors.md.
